Allegations were made earlier this month about Pakistan’s nuclear expansion. It emerged that Pakistan has been busy expanding two sites crucial to its nuclear program as part of an effort to bolster the destructive power of its atomic arsenal [1]. Pakistan’s reaction to these allegations was naturally denial. It is ironical that an ailing economy reliant on IMF assistance, with 24% of the population living under the poverty line and a Taliban insurgency that is getting stronger every day, has found the resources just to invest in their nuclear assets.
